“Nice, value for money place for authentic South Indian meal”
It is located close to NH4 by-pass (at Baner Annex) on 4th floor (top floor) of a commercial complex with a lift having entrance from rear side of the building.
Very well naturally illuminated hall during day time with breeze through bamboo blinds mounted on large windows. Clean place and decent furniture; bright colors around; painting and artifacts with a touch of Kerala!
We walked in on Saturday noon with a plan to have South Indian meal at about 1:30 PM. There was no crowd. Menu had Tiffin and Meals as well as some A La Carte preparations. We were told that Thali Meal will have both north and south Indian preparations. Since it was beyond point of no return; agreed and asked for two meals.
Thali Meal arrived on table in 5 minutes along with pickle and salt tray.
It had 2 Chapatis, rice, Rasam, Sambhar, dry okra preparation in south Indian style (not chettinad), Peas Paneer Gravy, Biryani rice, yellow dal, fried Papadam, curd and Gulab Jamun.
Rice, Rasam, Sambhar and Dal were hot but Chapais, Okra preparation, gravy, Biryani etc were cold.
I returned the Chapatis, kept north Indian preparation on side and focused on rice with all side preparations from South. Excellent Rasam taste and requested for additional bowl. Sambhar was also great and as well as okra preparation.
Biryani rice, paneer gravy were average.
While we were having the lunch, kiddo called and asked for Masala Dosa parcel. She loved the taste, quantity and quality.
Had brief chat with Mr Kartik about food, taste also the temperature (cold) of meal we had. He indicated snag in the equipment which is used for keeping the food warm. He also told that they have special preparations for Saturday and Sunday evenings like Apams-Stew etc. (May be next time in near future!).
Caution… Wash room and wash basin are upstairs. Be ready to climb twice; before eating and after eating
