“Good quality tasteful buffet with preparations from popular Indian cuisines at relatively higher rates”
I was one of the regulars at “Bombay Brasserie” during late 90s and specially the Kabab Factory. It was among first few places in Pune offering unlimited Kababs in dinner. Place had excellent taste and authenticity but stopped operations all of a sudden and it was a shock. Later, I found the same taste at Sigree and it is still the same.
This Sigree outlet in Aundh came up some time back but could not visit due to various reasons. Finally got a chance and visited some time ago.
It was busy weekend evening and walked in without reservation. Fortunately got a place to sit in few minutes and familiar face (Vinayak from Boat Club Road) greeted us at the entry.
This one has a one big hall with closely spaced tables, decent illumination from dinner point of view. Average ambiance.
Buffet and A La Carte both options are open and in my view; buffet is the best deal.
Nearly 6 to 8 varieties of Veg and Non Veg starters (including chicken, mutton, fish and prawn) served on table.
One veg and one non-veg soup; Murg Dhaniya Shorba (chicken coriander soup) and Pakhtooni Shorba (soup from SE Afghanistan)
Six to eight varieties of Salads ranging from Chicken salad to sprout salad to Aloo with Kashundi!
Elaborated dinner with wet and dry veg non-veg preparations (including chicken, mutton, fish and crab) ranging from mustered crab, Adraki Machchi (ginger fish), Murg Tikka Masala (chicken tikka masala), Dahi Gosht (meat cooed with yogurt), Paneer Lawabdar (cottage cheese), Rajma Masala (kidney beans masala), Methi Matar Malai, Kadhai Sabji,
Rice and Pulao including Gosht Khima Pulao (mince pulao), veg Pualo and Steamed Rice.
Breads are served on table (only Roti, Naan and Kulcha).
Select range deserts like Mal Pua, Baked Bundi, Malai Tosha, Jalebi, Pudding, pastry and ice cream (2 flavors) with condiments if you want to garnish!
Nothing was too spicy (warm) but mild to low spicy is one of the minus.
Taste, clear and different flavors were the key elements.
Maintaining the standard continuously is a tough job but I think they are successful with it.
