“Nice sprawling place for decent wine and dine”
Visited this place in late Dec14 on one of the Sundays, late night. Earlier it was “Barleys”.
Touch of wood and wood finish on all furniture, neon’ish blue touch low levels of illumination with highlighting and spotlighting. Different seating arrangements including conventional as well as contemporary. Open air seating space in terrace too. Brewery equipment behind the glass wall appeared nonfunctional and for display purpose only! See through kitchen. Overall decent ambiance. Loud music in the background.
With select soups, salads, finger food, pasta, pizza, mains (Indian) as combo, some rice and noodle preparations from far-east, deserts; the menu is close to what they have at Kiva Ivy Baner Road with some differences (reduction).
Alcoholic beverage section has popular Indian as well as expensive imported brands for both strong and low strength. The section also includes Kiva homegrown brew which is sold relatively cheaper at this place @99 a glass (German wheat and Cider are popular).
F&B I tried
Kiva Brew (99) –Two of the popular brews. The glass size is smaller compared to normal glass. Ask for tasting glasses before you order.
Kebab Ki Kadhai (240) –Kebab chunks with chopped onion, capsicum and tomatoes in tasteful red-brown gravy (not very hot yet spicy); served with two small tandoori rotis, small portion of rice, mix Rayta, onion slice and lemon. I asked for extra roti (20).
The meal size was enough for a normal appetite “4 glasses down” person who still wanted to top it up with a dessert.
Sizzling brownie with ice cream (160) – Brownie topped up with scoop of vanilla ice-cream served on a very hot platter and thick chocolate syrup poured from the top. The fragrance of burning chocolate on the hot platter was excellent, the taste was good.
Service: Some teething troubles were visible but it was fine for low occupancy.
Under 900 for a person with beer and food; I will rate it as decent.
