“Value for money place for tasteful, good quality Oriental and Chinese food”

Oriental Story is located opposite to Symantec on Baner Road. You can either park on road side near busy junction/signal or else there is an option to park in the basement of the building.

Ambiance-
The interiors are done in a frugal way (look above while you are seated). Selection of colors, artifacts, sketches and paintings provides feel of an oriental place. Decent levels of illumination in spacious hall with 20 or above tables. The ambiance defiantly provides a good feel about the place.

Menu-
It is divided in to two sections Chinese and Oriental. Chinese section is bit more inclined towards stir-fried preparations which may be dry or little fluidic but Oriental section is dominated by more of gravy dominant preparations. There are some signature curries which are the specialty and made from fresh paste.
In addition to above there is section for set menu which is available for lunch.

Decent bar menu including Kiva fresh brew.

In past few visits (many a times as a parcel dinner)… tried–
Soups: Lemon-Coriander, Tom Yum
Starters: Roasted Chili Lamb, Mushrooms with sweet chili sauce, Chili chicken, Chicken in roasted chili paste
Mains: Thai Red Curry with Basil Rice, Thai Green Curry with Rice, Malay curry with Rice, Haka noodles, American Chopsuey, Burnet garlic rice, Khow Seue.
Set Meals: Set Lunch Veg
In all preparations; the quality of the stuff, taste etc had been very nice (except American Chopsuey which tasted “stale”). Portion sizes are very good.

Service- During initial days they had poor service because of novice staff but now it is much improved and things are fine.

Summary –
Ambiance: 3
Food quality: 3.5
Food taste: 4
Brew taste: 4
Brew quality: 4
Service: 3.5
Value for money: 4
Overall: 3.5

Tips:
Kiva Brew served here costs approx Rs 40 lesser compared to Kiva Ivy (adjacent to this place) for same glass.
Weekday set lunch is a must try. It is cost effective with not much hustle bustle in the restaurant.
Thickness of Chili Chicken “chops” is towards higher side and it may be tough.
I think they also have a small banquet hall as well (please check).
