“Great place for Sunday brunch!”

Not very long ago Ishanya was “The Mall” in this part of town until a few more came up in the neighborhood and gradually it lost the charm… yet, establishments like “Blue Frog” have kept it alive and kicking!!!
Walked in early Sunday noon for the brunch and the place was already filling up.
Ambiance-
Sprawling property with the Hall, the Deck and the Patio as three major sections to make you comfortable as per mood and need. “The Deck” is facing the portion of the mall which “once upon time” used to have fountains. It has seating arrangement under the sun (ready sunny these days). “The Patio” provides little more comfort with artificial water mist provision to beat the summer heat. While “The Hall” has standard Blue Frog ambiance which is very similar to what they have in Mumbai…bit more lavish, air-conditioned area with live music/band. “The Patio” and “The Hall” share open kitchen. Ample sunlight, “no one is breathing on your neck” and the set-up is perfect for relaxing and spending some quality noon time in comfy environment.

Menu-

Pre-decided…
On the counter: Salads (veg and non-veg), cold soups, cheese, breads and desserts.
On the tap: Gateway brewing company beer
As per order: Select cocktails and cocktails; pancakes, waffles and French toast. Mains… one can go for select pizzas (authentic wood fired oven…wow!), pasta and egg preparations as per choice, grills (not to forget pork spare ribs and tiger prawns).
Overall “Firang” touch, I must say!

F&B tried-
Humus and Pita – Authentic, creamy and flavorful!
Croissant – flaky and nice!
Lettuce with mustard dressing – Leaves were fresh, crisp and the dressing was sharp and apt!
Cheese – 5 different types. Great!
Salads – Aubergine, corn & peas, cherry tomato & egg with mustard and sour cream dressing; Chicken tikka, Tuna nicoise oriental chicken. Fresh… nice texture, colors, flavors and taste. Great!
Pizza – Margarita; authentic… wood fired with smoky flavor, thin crust; cheese, tomatoes and basil. Yumm!
Pasta – Made to order “penne in spicy white sauce”. Creamy, cheesy, tasteful and mellow. With traces of freshly ground black pepper, nice!
Dessert – Fresh fruits (including Kiwi), banana cake, lemon cheese cake, chocolate truffle, tiramisu, apple crumble and strawberry eton mess. Great taste, nice spread, flavorful and tasteful!
Beer on the tap from Gateway Brewing Co, Mumbai…
West coast IPA – One of the best India Pale Ales ever had; nice golden blond with thin body, perfect blend piney-citrusy aroma, flavor and taste!
Doppelganger – Dark wheat, malty, high head, close to classic!
White Zen – Fruity and spicy, decent head, nice body; Cool!

Service- Courteous and quick.

Positive – spacious and airy, lots for space for kids, small spa section, tattoos for kids, overall package.
Negatives – house flies (not possible to control because of open kitchen between Hall and Patio).

Summary –
Ambiance: 4
Food taste: 4
Food quality: 4
Service: 4
Value for money: 4
Overall: 4

Tips:
Going early may help to opt seating location of preference.
Good place for medium size group as well.
For the management… that open air stage on “the deck” is perfect place for live band in the evening and if those fountains can still be made functional… it will be magical like it used to be!!!
