Old school… rustic place with good taste!

The place is located near railway station and I reached there around 9:30 PM. As I was entering, I could notice (just out side of the establishment on the road)… “a few people engaged in discussion/chit-chat, a pan shop, a bagger or two, stray a few dogs and a cat, a push cart selling fruits”… it reminded me similar establishments from Purana Bhopal, Camp Pune, Omti Jabalpur, Old Delhi Railway Station… nostalgic… felt transported in time. How the set ups are so similar in location, ambiance, service and food!!!

Ambiance-

A big hall with lots of tables with lot of hustle bustle (read jam packed), relatively quieter AC seating area at mezzanine, separate family hall (did not check).

Menu-

Conventional and innovative preparations with focus on Non Veg food… A la carte. Saw Chinese section in menu as well!!!

Tried-

Chicken soup: It was shorba which appeared blend but had spices. Taste was great.

Chicken seekh kabab: Chicken mince with spices, done properly using butter till golden brown appearance, not charred. Soft and mellow… great taste.

Tandoori chaps (Ribs): Laced with hot spices and butter, done well (stage before charring begins), flavorful and tasty!

Panir tikka: Soft cottage cheese slices, marinated in turmeric and other spices; undercooked hence mellow and soft. Good!

Veg Kadhai: Assorted vegetables in thick orange-brown gravy. Spicy preparation on request.

Roti: Whole wheat, served piping hot.

Chicken Biryani: it was show stopper. Tender chicken pieces with bone, aromatic, flavorful and tasteful. The fragrance lasted on fingers for really long time!
