Revisited 26 Jan 17… Same good taste… good going!!!

Good South Indian snacks but “not true Chennai stuff”! (… It is my take and we may agree to disagree)

Got a chance to visit the place during breakfast time on one of the weekdays.

Kitchen at the center and seating area around. About 30 plus tables. Black is the color theme on furniture as well as floor. Chennai backdrop indicated by the graffiti on the walls. Good cleanliness. Overall nice ambiance except if you sitting on one of the tables which is near fencing (practically on the footpath).

Breakfast Menu:

South Indian snacks including Idlies (4-5 types), Vada, Upma and Pongal. Tea and Filter Coffee.

Breakfast combo-

An idli, a vada, Pongal, Sambhar, Chuttney (3 types) and filter coffee.

Idli; though fluffy but fineness of batter resulted in to denser texture, huge size. Nice!

Vada; crisp from outside, fluffy and soft from inside, little undercooked, huge size. Great!

Coconut chutney- Bland, tasteful and fresh. The fluid was leaving non homogeneous blend of solids. Decent taste!

Green chutney- Gourd based, Sauté then finely blended, with touch of mint (I felt). Nice!

Red chutney- Onion and red chili based, Sauté then finely blended, with touch of sweetness. Excellent!

Sambhar- Little thicker, lots of lentils, little sweet as well. Appeared tweaked as per Pune taste buds (I think)!

Pongal- little wet and bland, mushy, creamy, coconut in the background, magic of whole black peppers. Very nice!

Filter coffee- Nice aroma, flavor and little bitter taste. I loved it… (Was there any chicory!!!)

Overall; nice taste without any doubt (excluding Sambhar)!!!
