Uber cool place for wine and dine amid sophisticated environment… upper crust yet pocket friendly!
This review is based on F&B tasting event as well as 5-6 repeat visits (I lost notes and files in action but found them recently).
Walked in at about half past seven in the evening time to check out micro-brewery and try brew if available. Heard a welcoming South African female voice at the entry and I was escorted towards the table.
Unfortunately micro-brewery was not up and running yet. As I was about to make a move; I heard familiar voices and saw faces calling me towards their table. It was foodie meet up for tasting. Though I was not part of it; on the spot invite was offered to me which I accepted happily.
The place can be divided in to 3 sections; outdoor German Oktoberfest type wooden open air seating. Air conditioned hall having multiple seating options which are relatively comfortable one can see Hollywood “hall of fame on the wall” on the right and bar counter on the left (as you enter); last but not the least; a small private area for gettos as well.
Had formal/casual chat with “the Director Marketing” (who traveled from Mumbai specifically for the event) on various topics related to the outlet, purpose and the brand. As she elaborated; the place is first and one of its kinds under Playboy brand umbrella here at Pune. It is purely focusing on F&B (specifically for in house brewed beer… license waited) as well as national international brands. Location and policies are targeted towards promoting IT community get-to-gathers.
It was pre-set food and drink menu without any beers though!
Roasted balsamic beetroot salad…
Baby Patatasa barvas with garlic aioli… inspired Spanish preparation of potatoes with Mediterranean touch of garlic-olive oil sauce. Nice!
Bean chevre crostini… tangy and creamy topping with touch of garlic. Good!
Hooters style chicken wings… I think the style word was applicable for wings and not the environment of the place! It was tasteful with touch of BBQ sauce prepared in slightly different style then conventional.
Paneer hariyali tikka… Tasteful and popular north Indian preparation; cottage cheese was mellow.
Lamb gilafi seekh… tender lamb mince preparation with mild spices!
Tres mushroom slider… small hamburgers with stuffing of 3 mushrooms (wild, porcini & shitake). Nice!
Thai slider prawn petty… small hamburgers with naturally salty patty made up of prawns having Thai spices (wild, porcini & shitake). Nice!
Cagliari pizza… Cagliari is a place in Italy which has seen rule of many civilizations and gastronomically influenced by diverse cuisines including caecilian; the pizza had wine ripened tomatoes, red onion, spinach, feta, pesto and garlic; interesting!
Penne with smoked cherry tomato sauce… Penne pasta in slight pink sauce garnished with Parmesan cheese. Decent!
Champagne risotto with asparagus… creamy, sticky and mellow preparation with asparagus. OK!
Braised tofu clay pot… Tofu braised in somewhat spicy sauce and tossed in black bean sauce with mushroom and chili. Tasted nice and different!
Cottage cheese moussaka with harissa… Spicy and cheesy preparation!
Chicken cafreal with fondant potatoes and chilli jus… Slightly spicy preparation having Afro-Portuguese roots (reference Goa!!!).
Veg Thai curry with aromatic rice… Exotic vegetables in coconut based green gravy, garnished with slices of red onion preparation was little spicy. It went really well with perfectly done steamed aromatic rice.
Banoffee pie… very English, shall I say perfect combination of burnet bananas, toffee, chocolate and nut. Yum!
Mango cheese cake… showstopper it was; soft Philadelphia cheese cake with Alphonso mango topping. Divine!
Near perfect plating and presentation; food taste was great. Good staff!
There were interesting cocktails as well some of them gelled well with the food but some were really off!
Overall; nice menu with select preparations from global cuisines and some interesting fusions as well!!!
Check/repeat visits: Later visited the establishment 6 to 7 times in past 2 months during different times of the day and found it consistent for food taste and quality. Micro-brewery still appears awaiting license …it seems …craft beer lowers may need to compromise with Bira (if in stock!).

Advice for free:
Evening time …careful about crowd (especially towards weekends)
Difficult to get parking inside the premises (…I bet; you would)
Park outside on roadside (easy) and enter from McD side… gate near establishment is for “Vehicle Exit” and security personal will now allow entry (not even walking)… try you must!
Some good popular imported bees (check for BTGO / BOGO offers during noon/early evening time).
Excellent place for small (as per my calibration!) high end corporate gettos (decent cost…check).
Live band performances! Yes… they do have.
If preparation is not as per your expectation; do tell chef about it (…surprise!).
PB signature cocktails and good wide band of single malts..
